Datrics
A Ukrainian no-code analytics startup that went through Y Combinator in 2021 has renamed its flagship product Datrics HCP and now pitches itself as generative AI for healthcare claims coding. The rebrand is recent, and almost none of the claims behind it have been tested outside the company.
Two names, one company
Search for Datrics on Y Combinator’s own site and the headline reads “Datrics: Generative AI Healthcare Coding Automation.” Scroll down to the launch post underneath that headline and the founders describe something else entirely: a “digital AI team member” that answers finance and sales questions for banks and credit unions, with no mention of medical coding, claims or providers at all.
That gap is the story. Datrics is the same legal entity that raised a Y Combinator seed round in 2021 to sell no-code analytics to banks. As late as February 2025 it was still doing interviews about “transforming analytics” for finance teams. Sometime after that, the company built a healthcare claims product called Datrics HCP and began describing itself, on job boards and in its own YC listing title, as a healthcare coding company. The older description of the business has not been fully replaced yet, it sits right next to the new one.
The problem it says it solves
Datrics’ healthcare materials describe a familiar set of complaints: manual review of insurance claims takes too long, prior authorization is slow, and coders and adjusters spend time on routine cases that could be automated. The company’s own success story page for the healthcare vertical cites examples such as a per-claim manual review dropping from about 30 minutes to seconds with AI-powered pre-approval, and a coverage determination program improving from 50 percent to 95 percent, a benefit the company values at more than $500,000 per region.
Those are the company’s own numbers, drawn from what it calls the first phase of its rollout: automated coding and billing validation, claims processing and denial management, prior authorization automation, and process analytics. No client is named next to any of these figures, and no outside party has confirmed them.
Founders
Datrics was founded in May 2020 by three people who already knew each other. Anton Vaisburd, the CEO, and Volodymyr Sofinskyi, the company’s data lead, met while working at Barclays. Kirill Kirikov, the CTO, had been friends with Vaisburd for years, since they studied together at the Faculty of Mechanics. Before Datrics, Kirikov was a co-founder and CTO at 4irelabs, a blockchain and fintech services company.
The company built its no-code analytics and machine learning platform with a team based largely in Kyiv, Lviv and Kharkiv, working remotely. Early backers named in Ukrainian tech press included ICU Ventures, QPDigital, Sigma Software Labs, and angel investors Illia Polosukhin of NEAR, Oleg Roginsky of People.ai, and Nick Belogorsky. Polosukhin is also a co-author of the Google research paper that introduced the transformer architecture behind modern generative AI.
From bank dashboards to claims coding
Datrics joined Y Combinator’s Winter 2021 batch and, according to Ukrainian outlet AIN, received $125,000 from the accelerator. By August 2021 the company announced a seed round of more than $1 million from Y Combinator, Altair Capital, ICU Ventures and other angel investors, on top of an earlier undisclosed round from ICU Ventures and $200,000 from QPDigital. At the time, the company told AIN it had banking and fintech clients including Revolut, alongside enterprise and startup customers.
For the next several years, public materials kept describing the same business: a low-code workflow tool and an “AI digital analyst” aimed at CFOs, sales leaders and analytics teams. A February 2025 interview with Vaisburd was still framed around transforming analytics, not healthcare. By December 2025 the company had also started a separate venture with NEAR Protocol and ADI Chain called TravAI, an AI agent and blockchain platform for corporate travel booking. The healthcare positioning, branded Datrics HCP, is the newest and least tested of the three directions the company has pursued since 2020.
What is proven, and what is still claimed
| Evidence | What the record shows | Source type |
|---|---|---|
| Legal entity | Datrics, Inc., a Delaware corporation, first registered a Legal Entity Identifier on May 6, 2020, listing a business address at 880 Harrison Street, Suite 202, San Francisco. The registration status was recorded as lapsed as of the most recent update on file. | Public record |
| Seed funding | Company and press reports describe a Y Combinator allocation of $125,000 in January 2021 and a seed round of more than $1 million announced in August 2021. A third-party company database lists total raised at about $1.5 million with the last stage marked seed. | Company and independent reporting |
| SEC filings | A full text search of SEC EDGAR for “Datrics” returns no Form D or any other filing under that name as of September 2026. | Not found |
| Coding accuracy | The company describes its platform as having “a high rate of accuracy,” built to avoid AI hallucinations, and using a human in the loop for uncertain cases. No named customer, audit, certification or published benchmark supports the claim. | Company-stated |
| Named healthcare customers | None found. The company’s healthcare success story describes programs in workers’ compensation claims and coverage determination without naming the insurer or provider involved. | Not found |
| Peer-reviewed evidence | No papers referencing Datrics or its products found in a PubMed search as of September 2026. | Not found |
| FDA or clinical trial record | None found. The product is billed as claims and coding software, not a regulated medical device, and no registered clinical trial names the company. | Not found |
| Company positioning | Y Combinator’s own listing title reads “Generative AI Healthcare Coding Automation,” while the launch post underneath it, unchanged since the original submission, describes a general purpose analytics assistant for banks and enterprises with no healthcare content. | Differs from listed content |
Read plainly, Datrics has a verifiable founding date, a verifiable Delaware registration, and verifiable early funding for a banking analytics product. It does not yet have any independently confirmed evidence for the healthcare coding claims it is now making, no named clients, no third-party accuracy check, and no SEC filing that reflects money raised specifically for that business.
What to watch
- Whether Datrics names a healthcare provider or insurer customer, or publishes an audited accuracy figure for Datrics HCP.
- Whether a Form D or other SEC filing appears for the company, since none exists on EDGAR as of this writing.
- Whether the Legal Entity Identifier is renewed, since its status was recorded as lapsed.
- Whether the TravAI travel platform with NEAR and ADI Chain becomes a second active business line alongside healthcare, or fades the way the banking analytics positioning has.
