Digital health · Chronic and autoimmune care
Jeevam Health
A Y Combinator backed app that paired functional medicine doctors with Indian thyroid and autoimmune patients, built on the idea that medication alone was not fixing their symptoms. By late 2025 the company's own website had gone dark, and its co-founder and CEO had moved to a corporate role at Tata 1mg.
Ten thousand patients and a supplement bottle
The pitch on the company's own site, captured by the Internet Archive, read like this: “91% Sucess Rate with 10K+ Thyroid Patients.” A patient booked a free call, enrolled in a “Root Cause Consult,” sent in lab work covering what the company called “100+ biomarkers,” and received a plan that combined diet, lifestyle changes, prescription medicine and a house brand supplement the company marketed as “India's first Multivitamin for Thyroid Health.” A video consult, a diet coach, and a bottle of pills arrived at the patient's door.
It was a consumer health business wrapped around a clinical claim, and both halves needed to work.
The gap it named
Jeevam's founders pointed to a specific frustration. “Even after taking medication, 60% of women are having unresolved symptoms like fatigue, weight issues, and pregnancy challenges,” the company's own description says. Thyroid hormone replacement is a well established, decades old treatment, but it manages hormone levels rather than the autoimmune process that causes most hypothyroidism in the first place. Jeevam's argument was that a functional medicine approach, looking at nutrition, gut health, toxicity and insulin resistance alongside the thyroid panel, could reach symptoms that medication alone left behind.
The company said in 2021 that it aimed to serve some of the roughly 200 million Indians it described as living with chronic autoimmune and metabolic conditions. Independent Indian coverage at the time reported a similar framing: doctors using nutritional biochemistry and advanced diagnostics to find the root cause of disease rather than just suppressing symptoms.
Three founders, three roles
Piyush Vishwakarma and Kamran Alam, both IIT Roorkee graduates, started the company in 2020. Vishwakarma became CEO, and Alam took the chief technology officer role, building the software that was meant to analyze thousands of biomarkers and surface patterns in a patient's history. A third co-founder, Dr. Anish Musa, brought more than 20 years of medical experience and led research and development on the company's supplement line, according to an investor's account of the company.
The company was incorporated with India's Ministry of Corporate Affairs on November 2, 2020, as Jeevam Health Private Limited, with a registered office in Okhla Industrial Area, New Delhi. That address, not Bengaluru, is what the corporate registry, LinkedIn and PitchBook all list as the company's home. The authorized capital on file is a modest 100,000 rupees, with paid up capital of just 2,000 rupees, figures that reflect the shell of the legal entity rather than the venture money that flowed to it separately.
Y Combinator, then three more checks
Jeevam went through Y Combinator's Summer 2020 batch and, per PitchBook's deal log, closed an accelerator investment of $150,000 around August 28, 2020. A pre-seed round followed on March 23, 2021, reported by ETHealthworld as Rs 1.8 crore, roughly $247,000 at the time, from Y Combinator and other investors. PitchBook logs the same date and almost the identical dollar figure, and its running total after that round, $397,000, is exactly the sum of the two. A third, undisclosed early stage round is dated May 14, 2021, and a fourth, $550,000, closed around July 6, 2022. PitchBook lists six investors in total: Y Combinator, Goodwater Capital, Cloud Capital, Dexter Ventures, SRI Capital and Venture Garage.
By its own account in 2022, Jeevam had grown from roughly 12,000 patients served to a claimed 50,000-plus consultations, and it described itself as covering all of India through video calls.
The site goes quiet
There is no press release, obituary or acquisition notice for Jeevam Health. What exists instead is an absence. A November 28, 2025 capture of jeevamhealth.com by the Internet Archive shows the domain returning an HTTP 301 redirect to an unrelated tourism website, the kind of behavior typical of a lapsed domain registration rather than an active company's homepage. Around the same period, Piyush Vishwakarma's public profile describes him as currently heading B2B products at Tata 1mg, a large Indian online pharmacy and health platform, with Jeevam Health listed as past work. Neither move was announced with a public explanation of why the company stopped operating.
The corporate registry tells a different, narrower story. As of 2026, Jeevam Health Private Limited is still listed with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs as an active company, with its most recent annual general meeting recorded for September 30, 2024, and its most recent balance sheet dated March 31, 2024. A dormant legal shell that files its paperwork on time can sit on the register as active for years after the product it was built around has stopped serving patients, and that appears to be what happened here.
What is proven, and what is still claimed
| Evidence | What the record shows | Source type |
|---|---|---|
| Incorporation | Jeevam Health Private Limited, CIN U85300DL2020PTC372528, incorporated Nov 2, 2020 with the Registrar of Companies, Delhi. Registered office in Okhla Industrial Area, New Delhi. | Public record |
| Company location | MCA filings, LinkedIn and PitchBook all list New Delhi as the company's headquarters, not Bengaluru. | Differs from Bengaluru listing |
| Corporate status | MCA lists the company as Active as of 2026, with its last AGM dated Sep 30, 2024. The company's own website had stopped resolving to Jeevam content by Nov 2025, and its CEO has moved to another employer. | Registry status differs from operating status |
| Funding total | PitchBook logs four rounds totaling $947,000 between Aug 2020 and Jul 2022, across six investors. No SEC Form D or other US securities filing was found, consistent with an India-only, India-domiciled company. | Public record |
| Patient volume | The company said it served about 12,000 patients as of 2022 and separately claimed “50,000+ consultations” on its website. Neither figure is independently audited. | Company-stated |
| Clinical outcomes | The website claimed a “91% Success Rate” and, elsewhere on the same site, a “93% Success Rate within 6 months.” No study design, sample size or methodology for either figure was published, and no peer-reviewed paper was found. | Not found |
| Regulatory clearance | No FDA record applies; Jeevam operated in India as a telemedicine and nutraceutical service. No equivalent Indian regulatory filing was located in this research. | Not found |
Read plainly: Jeevam Health raised real, documented venture money from named investors and built a functioning consumer health product that reportedly reached tens of thousands of patients. What the record does not show is any independent verification of the clinical claims it made about those patients, or any public account of why the product went offline.
What to watch
- Whether Jeevam Health Private Limited files further annual returns with the MCA, or is eventually struck off the register for inactivity.
- Whether the jeevamhealth.com domain is reclaimed by the company or stays in the hands of whoever now holds it.
- Whether co-founders Piyush Vishwakarma or Kamran Alam speak publicly about why the company stopped operating.
