Lobby

A one person, London based startup that set out to send licensed guides to meet UK patients in person and collect dental scans and other health data before they travel abroad for treatment. Y Combinator lists it as Inactive, no funding filing has been found, and the company website no longer resolves.

A guide, a scan, a trip abroad

Lobby’s own description of its business is narrow and specific. A UK resident who has booked, or is considering, dental work or another procedure overseas needs a clinic on the other end to know exactly what it is dealing with before the patient arrives. Rather than ask the patient to find their own imaging or travel to a clinic’s local partner, Lobby says it sent “licensed guides” to meet the patient locally, in the UK, and collect a dental scan and other health data in person. The clinic abroad then used that data, in the company’s words, “to create personalised treatment plans” before the patient ever boarded a flight.

No clinic partner, guide, or patient is named in any material found for this profile. The description above is the company’s own account of what it built, not a verified account of what shipped or who used it.

The problem, in the company's own numbers

Lobby framed the opportunity as data collection at scale. “Selling healthcare products online is hard,” the company wrote on its Y Combinator profile. “You need accurate health data to serve customers. Getting this data is extremely difficult.” Its answer was “a network of locations that companies can use to collect this health data and onboard their customers,” with health tourism named as the first market.

The company’s own figures for the size of that market do not agree with each other. Its short, one line pitch calls health tourism a “$200B” industry. The longer description on the same profile puts it at “$270B.” Both are company-stated and neither is sourced to an outside study in the material found.

One founder, two earlier companies

Y Combinator credits Lobby to a single founder, Jibril Gudal. UK company records show a Jibril Gudal, born March 1997, British, who has held two UK directorships before Lobby: Fastdub Limited, appointed 15 June 2020, and BookB Ltd, appointed 9 April 2019. Companies House lists both as dissolved. Neither filing mentions Lobby, health tourism or dental scans, and this research found no independent confirmation that this is the same Jibril Gudal who founded Lobby, beyond the shared name and UK location.

A GitHub account under the same name shows a short list of forked repositories, mostly machine learning and speech projects such as a TensorFlow WaveNet implementation and a text to speech toolkit, with no original Lobby code and no description of the person behind it.

A batch that predates the founding date

Y Combinator’s own listing for Lobby carries batch code S21, which the platform labels “Summer 2021.” The same listing’s description text says the company was “Founded in 2022.” Nothing found in this research explains the gap. It is possible the batch label is an administrative artifact rather than a description of when Lobby actually went through the program, but no source confirms either explanation.

By the time this profile was researched, in September 2026, Y Combinator listed Lobby’s program status as Inactive. The company website, uselobby.com, did not respond to a direct connection attempt and returned a TLS handshake failure rather than a page. No snapshot of the site was found in the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine.

What is proven, and what is still claimed

Operations track. Lobby sold a data collection and onboarding service, not a diagnostic or treatment device, so FDA clearance, PMA approval and registered clinical trials would not normally apply to it. What is available is a company profile page, a set of unrelated public filings that share the name “Lobby,” and a UK officer record for the named founder.
EvidenceWhat the record showsSource type
SEC Form DAn SEC EDGAR full text search for “uselobby.com” returned zero results. Every Form D that mentions the word “Lobby” belongs to unrelated filers: Lobby Technologies, Inc. of San Francisco, a Delaware company that Roblox Corporation acquired on August 26, 2022, between its two Form D filings that year; Lobby Inc., a filer with notices from 2019 and 2021, before this company says it was founded; and Lobby Capital, L.P. and Lobby Capital II, L.P., vehicles of Lobby Capital, a venture firm built around the Lobby Conference and unconnected to health tourism. Not found
UK company registrationA Companies House search for “Lobby” and for “Lobby Technologies” returns no entity that names health tourism, dental scans or Jibril Gudal as a director. The only Companies House record tied to a Jibril Gudal, born March 1997, is two dissolved companies with no evident link to Lobby. Not found
FDA, clinical trials, NIH, NSF, PubMedNo 510(k), PMA, registered trial, NIH award or NSF award for Lobby or uselobby.com. Read plainly: almost nothing about Lobby has been independently verified. There is no regulatory record, no confirmed funding filing, no UK corporate registration and no press coverage found under the company’s name. What remains is a single company authored profile page, describing a business that, by its own account, no longer has an active site and is marked inactive by its own accelerator.

What to watch

  • Whether uselobby.com or any successor site returns online, and under what name.
  • Any SEC Form D or UK Companies House filing that can be tied to this company by name, address or officer, none of which has been found so far.
  • Confirmation that the Jibril Gudal who holds two dissolved UK directorships is the same person credited as Lobby’s founder.
  • An explanation for the gap between the company’s stated 2022 founding and its Y Combinator S21 (Summer 2021) batch label.
  • Any independent press coverage of the company, of which none was found as of this research.
